Paralel Structure

Some words in a sentence which have same equivalent value have to found expression in a same grammatical structure.
                1. Nouns                  : He likes music, art and history. (correct)           
                2. Gerunds              : He likes swimming, singing and dancing. (correct)
                3. Adjectives          : He is tall, black and stupid. (correct
             4. Infinitive     : They wanted to paint, to lay a new carpet and to buy a new sofa.
                5. Tenses                 : I ate, drank and slept yesterday. (correct)
                 6. Noun phrase   : He enjoyed music of Spain and the sculpture of France. (correct)
                 
PARALLEL WITH COORDINATE CONJUNCTION
·         Not only….. but also…..
                    ex : Not only you but also she is angry.
·         As well as …
                    ex : He is clever as well as handsome.
·         As well (also)
                    ex : He is not only a student but a boxer as well.
·         ….., as well as …
                    ex : The teacher, as well as his students, is going abroad.
·         but, as, or, than, although, as … as, the same as, similar to,  both … and …,  either … or, neither … nor.
                Ex : - Running is the same as  swimming.
                                 
KINDS OF CONJUNCTIONS

                1. Coordinating conjunctions
    1.  Cumulative conjunctions (collecting / adding)  
               and, as well as, and also, addition, furthermore, like wise, besides, again, moreover, in, similarly.
                           ex : juwan is kid and smart.
                 b. Alternative conjunctions (selection between two or more)
                     or, either…or…, neither…nor….
                     ex : Do you like Rama or Shinto ?
                 c. Adversative conjunctions (pertentangan)
                       Yet, still, however, but, nevertheless, whereas.
                       ex : He is poor, but honest.
                 d. Illusive conjunctions (menunjukkan conclusion)
         Accordingly, consequently, therefore, hence, so, wherefore, thus, thereby, otherwise,  moreover.
                  ex : He is sick so he can’t join the class now.

2. Paired Conjunction
Ø  Both . . . and
                Ex : Both Arabic and English are International languages. 
Ø  Either . . . or
                Ex : They intended to study either Arabic or English.
Ø  Neither . . . nor
Ex : Some factory is neither think about waste nor pollution, that’s make the environment dirty.
Ø  Not only… but also
                Ex : mountain is not only has fresh breeze but also beautiful landscape.

COMPARISON
Using conjunction
v  The same . . . As / the same as
                Ex : Joni has the same hobby as Jane.
                                 Joni’s hobby is the same as Jane’s.
v  As . . . as
                Ex : I want to runaway from police as fast as  possible.
v  Similar to
                Ex : His face are similar to hers.
v  Using like
             Ex : He talks like his teacher.
v  Using alike
             Ex :  the twins look alike
v  More + nouns + than
            Ex : Sometimes, English is more difficult than  Arabic language.
In comparative, for adjective and adverb which monosyllable it just need to add –er in the end of the word. For superlative, it just need to add –est in the end of word
            Ex : - An essay test is harder than objective test.

The most ( superlative)
Ex :  a husband is the most handsome one for his wife.

Distinguishing differ and different
Ex : she is different from her mom. (adjective.)
                She differs from her mom. (verb)
