FORM AND USE COMPARATIVE
¢  The comparative of majority form is adjective or adverb that have function to compare somthing (people, animals, objects, abd so on ) by adding the suffix –er  or by using the quantifier more before it.
Comparative
More comparative
Tall - taller
Beautifull - More beautifull

Notes : If the adjective or adverb consist of one syllable, add –er, if it consist of more than one syllable, use more
¢  If the adjectives or adverb ends in a sigle vowel followed by –d or –g, the consonant is doubled when –er is added :
   Example :
big
bigger
☺Exception : adjectives and adverbs ending in –y
    Example :
happy
happier

FORMS OF COMPARATIVES

FORM 1.
Adjective + er……than……..
Example :  Zellianty is older than Olivia
FORM 2.
The + comparative + subject +verb + the + comparative + subject + verb…….
Example :  The higher you climb, the nicer you will feel.
FORM 3.
The more + subject + verb+ the + comparative + subject + verb
Example :   The more he works, the richer he will become.


FORM 4.
More + adjective……. than…..
Example :  A house is more expensive than yours.
FORM 5.
Less + adjective……. than…..
Example :   This TV is less cheaper than.
FORM 6.
More + noun
Example : Would you like some more coffee 
FORM 7
More + noun + than
Example : There are more people in China than there are in the United States
FORM 8
More
Example : Do you have enough coffee, or would you like some more?
FORM 9
Repeating a comparative
Example : Because he was afraid, he walked faster and faster.
                  Life in the modern world is becoming more and more complex.

FORM  AND USE SUPERLATIVE
SUPERLATIVE is used to compare three or more things or persons.
FORM 1 :
The + adjective + est
Example :  The longest river in the world is the Nile.
FORM 2 :
The most + adjective +
Example :  Sally is the most beautiful of all the woman at the party.
Notes : Most used with short adjectives such as tall, long and so on.
            -est used with long adjectives such as beautiful, expensive and so on.
